Frequently asked questions
Check out our frequently asked questions below. If you would prefer to speak to an Isaac Care advisor, contact us today.
Do I need a landline or internet in the house?
No, our fall alarm uses a sim card – it works like a mobile phone meaning it can be used inside and outside the house.
Do I need to have a mobile phone to use the Isaac Fall Alarm?
No, the person using the fall alarm doesn’t need to have a mobile phone.
What will happen if there is poor phone coverage in my area?
The sim card we use has excellent coverage nationwide, however we cannot guarantee connection in areas of poor sim coverage.
Will someone call to my house and help with setup?
There is no need for any installation. When you purchase your fall alarm you will receive an application form by email which captures the details of the person using the device and the emergency contacts. The fall alarm will then be pre-configured and sent out by courier. When received it only needs to be turned on – so no set up required!
Can I use the Isaac fall alarm if I have a pacemaker?
If you have a pacemaker we don’t advise you to wear around your neck. Please only attach to a belt clip or keyring. This device must not be worn within 25cm of your pacemaker.
Is the fall alarm waterproof?
It is splash-proof not waterproof. We do not recommend using it in the shower.
How often does the fall alarm need to be charged?
When the battery is running low, you will hear a voice prompt to charge it. There will also be an app notification to the circle of care. The device requires charging every 4-5 days.
What happens if I press the alarm button by mistake?
No problem this can happen! A short press of the SOS button within 60 seconds will cancel the alert and the emergency contacts will not be called.
Does the fall alarm automatically detect all falls?
The Isaac Fall alarm has an in-built accelerometer which can detect the impact of a fall. However, it may not detect a gradual fall or slump. We recommend pressing the alarm button for help in all eventualities.
What happens when an alert is raised?
All fall and SOS alerts are routed directly to 3 nominated emergency contacts. You choose the order of these contacts when filling in your application form. Allowing you to speak directly to our dedicated team through the device when you need help.
The call will always go to the first person on the list, if there is no response it will move to the second, then the third, this process will repeat until the call is successfully answered.
As soon as an alert is raised, the relevant circle of care in the Isaac app will receive a notification through to their phone, along with a phone call if they are one of your 3 nominated emergency contacts.
